Partouche Poker Tour reduce Main Event price pook from €5 to 4.3 million euros

partouche poker tour main even price pool 4.3 million instead of 5 million Organisers of The Partouche Poker Tour (PPT), one of biggest and best known poker tournament in Europe, have informed players that they won’t be able to guarantee the €5 million for the Main Event and that the prize pool would “only” be 4.3m.

The PPT is at its fifth poker series and organisers had originally advertised the many satellites and super satellites played across France as having 5 million guaranteed price pool, regardless the number of entries.

The players that entered the competition matched last year’s numbers, 580, who paid the €8500 buy-in tournament.

However the tournament organisers claim that they never guaranteed the 5 million euros prize pool. They even ordered the clean-up of all the web pages where such promise was made, even though historic web caches from Google still indicate the original text!

iGamingFrance contacted Maxime Masquelier, Head of Partouche Poker Tour, to express the discontent on behalf of players.

Maxime Masquellier claimed that for a buy-in of €8,500 I think we can be proud of the final figure adding that at no time did we say that €5m was secured when it is guaranteed in writing.

He concluded saying that although some sister sites owned by Partouche may have reported a guarantee, the PPT site itself did not officially communicate this. However, several sites have reported and shown that historical pages contradict this, and also show evidence of attempts to cover up original statements.
